A November to Remember: A Pride and Prejudice Variation
About
One insult, three meddlers, and a house full of unmarried people at Netherfield. What could possibly go wrong?
After delivering an insult so disastrous it can only be described as a blunder of catastrophic proportions, Fitzwilliam Darcy makes a brief retreat to London for business. Unfortunately, his escape is short-lived. He returns to Hertfordshire saddled with two uninvited chaperones: his older cousin, the bored Viscount Keathley, and the perpetually hungry Colonel Richard Fitzwilliam. Robert insists upon accompanying Darcy partly to prevent further social catastrophe, but mostly for his own amusement. The Colonel, never one to miss food, folly, or a warm hearth, eagerly tags along. Thus, Netherfield acquires not only more guests than it was prepared for, but more opinions than it can safely contain.
Miss Elizabeth Bennet, meanwhile, has entirely forgotten Mr Darcy’s existence. She has far more pressing concerns—namely, dodging the excruciatingly obtuse Mr Collins, managing a mother determined to see her wed to anyone with a pulse and an estate, and surviving a father who views the entire affair as excellent sport.
But the quiet country life is about to be utterly upended. In a twist of fate that threatens the sanity of all involved, the sophisticated Viscount Keathley forms an unholy alliance with the formidable Mrs Bennet and her sister, Mrs Phillips. Together, they are determined to orchestrate the romantic futures of everyone in their vicinity, because who could possibly know better than them?
As the Netherfield party is dragged into the matchmaking crossfire, this will certainly be a November to remember.
In this light-hearted novel, we shall answer these highly serious questions:
- Will Mr Darcy and Miss Elizabeth escape this aggressive meddling, or will they succumb to their undeniable attraction?
- Can Mr Bingley and the angelic Miss Jane Bennet find their happily-ever-after amidst the interference?
- Will Mr Collins return to his illustrious patroness Lady Catherine de Bourgh with an acceptable wife?
- Can Miss Bingley decide which of the three eligible bachelors residing at Netherfield is the best target upon whom to set her cap?
- And, most importantly, will the Colonel ever stop eating cucumber sandwiches?
- Laugh-out-loud Pride and Prejudice variations
- Witty, deadpan British humour and chaotic ensemble casts
- JAFF Regency romantic comedies with a touch of depth
- A swoon-worthy, slow-burn, clean historical romance with a hearty side of absurdity
